    Information

A Rate Period determines the date range a Rate is available for.

Rate Periods can be setup to reflect the changeover in a pricing structure including annual, peak, off-peak and shoulder seasons.

Special events and holidays that affect prices can also be setup as a shorter Rate Period that overlaps another one.

The Rate Period can be selected in a Rate Lookup to determine when the Rate Type and Rate Table combination are available on a Reservation and what pricing will apply.

The Rate Hierarchy determines which rate rules take precedence when a rule exists on more than one layer of the rate.

A Rate Period Colour can be selected to represent the Rate Period when viewing the Booking Chart or Rate Manager with the option 'Show Rate Period Colours' enabled.

Enterprise customers can select which Properties the Rate Period will be available to.

Editing an existing Rate Period and changing the date range will make any Rates setup using that Rate Period switch to the newly selected dates.

To maintain the integrity of existing Rates it is recommended to setup a new Rate Period for any new or future dates of availability instead of modifying the existing Rate Periods to a new season.

Category, Area, Reservation, Rate and Tax are default System Labels that can be customised.

System Administrators will require Security Profile access to setup this feature.
