Rate availability is determined by the dates selected on the Rate Period used in the Rate Lookup.
Setting up Rate Periods for defined date ranges instead of using the 'All Year Round' option provide properties the ability to define how far in advance a Rate can be booked for as well as set differing prices for different periods of time.
Steps Required
Have your System Administrator complete the following.
- Go to Charts > Rate Manager in RMS.
- Select 'Rates'.
- Select 'Rate Periods'.
- Select 'Add'.
- Enter a Rate Period Description.
- Select a Date Range.
- Select the Rate Period Options.
- Save/Exit.

The Rate Period determines the date range a set of pricing is applicable to.
Rate Periods can be setup to reflect the changeover in a pricing structure including Annual, Peak, Off Peak and Shoulder seasons as well as smaller overlapping Holiday Seasons.
Selecting a Cancellation Policy or setting a Minimum Reservation Period on the Rate Period will override any set on the Rate Type.
Setup a Rate Type, Rate Table and Rate Lookup to make a Rate Type available for selection on a reservation or use the New Rate Wizard.
