Stripe Security Upgrade

As October 1, 2024, Stripe will begin requiring that all businesses connecting to RMS authenticate with a more secure restricted API key rather than your all-access standard key.
This is a planned upgrade to enhance the overall security of your Stripe integration and complies with Stripe's latest standards.
Stripe may impose a fee in 2025 for businesses that do not make this security update.
We’ve released a new Stripe app that automates the permission selection for your new restricted key.
After this update, your integration will continue to work normally.
You can comply with this update by following these simple steps below by September 30:
- Open your Stripe app listing RMS Stripe App in the Stripe App Marketplace.
- Click “Install app” at the top of the app listing to begin.
- Review the permissions and click “Install app” to automatically generate your new restricted API key.
- Copy your new restricted API key
- In RMS 9+ go to
Setup > Property Options > Property Information > Edit your Property > Payment Gateway. - Paste the New Restricted API Key in place of your existing restricted key
- Save and Exit.
