Overlapping Reservations Restriction

The option "Do not allow guests to overlap reservations across the enterprise" will prevent a guest from having multiple reservations across a single or multiple properties at the same time.
This may be handy if you have membership restrictions that allow a guest only to have one booking at a time.
There is also the ability to Exclude a specific Category from this rule. An example where this might be used is where you have Long-term spaces like Car Parking or Storage that the guest already booked, and you need to allow the guest to have a Casual reservation also.
The Overlapping restriction will need to be activated before the Category exclusion option is available.
To Activate
Have your System Administrator complete the following in RMS.
- Navigation in the side menu.
- Setup
- Property Options
- General Information
- Reservation Options Tab
- Select "Do not allow guests to overlap reservations across the enterprise"
- Save/Exit
To Exclude a Category from the Rule
Have your System Administrator complete the following in RMS.
- Navigation in the side menu.
- Setup
- Categories/Areas
- Edit Category
- Select "Do Not Include in Category Overlap Validation"
- Save/Exit.
Security Profile
Security Profile restriction allows users to override this if required. This is found in the Security Profile setup under
Have your System Administrator complete the following in RMS.
- Navigation in the side menu.
- Setup
- Users
- Security Profiles
- Edit Profile
- Reservation Screens > Allow Override of Guest Overlapping Reservation Restrictions
- Click on Yes or No to change
- Save/Exit.
