    Derived Rate Adjustment Amounts

Information on the calculation adjustment options when setting up Derived Rate Types in RMS.

Derived Rates are Rate Types that can be setup with an adjustment amount to determine pricing off of a source Rate Type (Master Rate).

Derived Rates can be used to simplify complex rate structures and save time by having contracted, negotiated or promotional rate plans automatically determine pricing off of the lead in Rate Type (eg. Best Available Rate) using the predetermined adjustment amounts.

    Adjustment Types

    Percentages

Derived Rates can be setup as a positive or negative percentage adjustment from the selected Master Rate.

This would cause the pricing of the Derived Rate Type to always be the set percentage less or greater than the target Master Rate.

For example, a Master Rate at $100 with a Derived Rate setup as -10% would become $90.

This can further be adjusted with the introduction of Packages, Taxes and Additionals setup on the Master Rate, Derived Rate or both depending on the options selected.

    Amounts

Derived Rates can be setup as a positive or negative flat amount adjustment from the selected Master Rate.

This would cause the pricing of the Derived Rate Type to always be that set flat amount less or greater than the target Master Rate.

For example, a Master Rate at $100 with a Derived Rate setup as -$10 would become $90.

This can further be adjusted with the introduction of Packages, Taxes and Additionals setup on the Master Rate, Derived Rate or both depending on the options selected.
