    Reverse Balance Transfer

    Reverse balance transfer sent to incorrect account in RMS.

    Solution

    A Balance Transfer is an account action that enables moving a Credit or Debit balance between a Guest, Company, Travel Agent or Reservation Account.

    Reservation Accounts can have up to 5 Reservation Account Types - Account 1, Account 2, Gas, Electricity and Water.

    Transactions on a Company or Travel Agent Account cannot be transferred to another Account by using a Balance Transfer.

    A transfer transaction on the origin account will display the destination account number. 

    A transfer transaction on the destination account will display the origin account number.

    A Debit Balance Transfer can be reversed if it has been completed in error or sent to the incorrect account.

    A Credit Balance Transfer can be moved from the destination account using Balance Transfer.

    Balance Transfer transactions can be located using Quick Account Access to open the destination account.

    Solution

    Reverse Debit Balance Transfer

    To reverse a Debit Balance Transfer Users can void the Transaction on the origin or destination account.

    Go to Accounting > Quick Account Access in RMS. 

    Enter the Reservation Number for the origin account - in this example #11805.


    Select 'Go To Account' to open the origin account.



    Right-click the transfer transaction and select 'Void Transaction'.


    Optional: Select Reason for void transaction.

    Select 'Void Transaction' to void the transfer and return to the Account.


    The transfer has now been reversed and the balance has returned to the origin account.


    Delete

    Reverse Credit Balance Transfer


    A Credit Balance Transfer can be moved from the destination account using Balance Transfer.

    Go to Accounting > Quick Account Access in RMS.


    Enter the Account number for the destination account - in this example #27264.


    Select 'Go To Account' to open the destination account.


    Select Transfer > Balance Transfer.


    Select or enter the destination account.


    Optional: Enter amount to transfer.

    Select 'Transfer' to complete Balance Transfer.

    Select 'Yes' to complete Balance Transfer and return to account.


    The balance will be moved to the selected destination account.

    The original transfer transactions will remain on all accounts where financial movements occurred and cannot be removed.

    Delete



    Account, Reservation, Guest, Company & Travel Agent are default System Labels that can be customised.

    Users will require Security Profile access to use this feature.
